Background
「Challenge 2020」is a competition lasted for half year, aiming to encourage students to use technology for plant growing, with inspiration from smart hydroponic system, and thus to equip students with innovative, scientific, analytical, problem solving etc., skills for a comprehensive and diversified development.
Objective

Through 4 elements of STEM, to develop students' knowledge and interests in STEM (Life Science);

To develop students' creativity, cooperation and problem solving skills;

To enhance students' ability in integrating and applying knowledge and skills;

To encourage students to share their research result and contribute to the society.
Programs

Trial and proposal
Each entered school will receive 4 hydroponic planting systems and a training course. Each school will need to hand in a proposal on how to improve planting quality. There is no limitation and restrictions on number of groups and students to participate the competition.

Research report and presentation
Organiser will provide seeds for the research. School will need to hand in research report, planting video, etc.

Video sharing
Planting video will be lived and shared, judging panel will shortlist for finals.

Finals and prize presentation ceremony
Shortlisted schools will need to present their research report. Judging panel will judge and present the prizes.

Champion (x1): Cash prize HK$15,000, trophy and certificate

1st runner-up (x1): Cash prize HK$10,000, trophy and certificate

2nd runner-up (x1): Cash prize HK$5,000, trophy and certificate

Best sharing (x1): Cash prize HK$5,000 and certificate
